Overview of Crib Certification Requirements in Various Countries
For purchasers, understanding the crib certification requirements of different countries is crucial.
United States
- Require a Children's Product Certificate (CPC) issued by a third-party laboratory, and comply with standards like ASTM F1169 (full-size cribs), ASTM F406 (non-full-size cribs and play yards), as well as relevant 16 CFR regulations.
European Union
- Mandatory CE certification is needed. A Declaration of Conformity must be issued by an ISO 17025-accredited laboratory, adhering to standards such as EN 716 (mechanical-physical properties, flammability, etc.) and EN 1130 (structural safety).
Canada
- Follow the SOR/2010-261 standard, meet requirements of multiple regulations like the "Lead-Containing Consumer Products Regulations", and ensure product labels and instructions are in both English and French.
Australia and New Zealand
- Full-size cribs must comply with the AS/NZS 2172 standard, and the AS/NZS 2195 standard is also applicable.
China
- Mandatory China Compulsory Certification (CCC) is required for the Chinese market, along with compliance with GB national standards.
Japan
- Although voluntary, the ST (Safety & Quality for Toys) certification is highly recognized, indicating excellent performance in safety and environmental protection.
Additional Notes
- International Organization for Standardization (ISO) also has relevant standards, and e-commerce platforms like Amazon have their own compliance requirements. Purchasers should pay attention to these to avoid risks.
